First Post

Today in school I was zoning out in my AP English class which happened to be first period on a Monday morning, which is by far the most excruciating time frame a class of that nature can be in. Our teacher was lecturing about a book we're reading called The Source by James Michener, which is a pretty good book, but when a teacher goes on and on about it, I have a tendency to let my thoughts wander. I feel as though I have some pretty good thoughts, if I do say so myself. I know what you're probably thinking, "Oh this kid probably just day dreams about girls like every other teenage guy." Honestly, yea about 80% of the time you're spot on. However, that other 20% of the time I have some intelligent, intellectual thoughts and ideas. But the dilemma becomes; Who do I share these brilliant insights with? Of course, I have a Twitter account where I can share a random thought every once in a while, but you can only do so much with 140 characters. So I sat there thinking, and came up with the idea that I should just make a blog....It's perfect, I can write what I'm thinking about or whatever happens to be going on in my world and maybe people will start to like it and follow my work.

This blog won't be me spewing all my thoughts via the internet, that would just be ridiculous. The plan that I have is for my blog to inform people about everything, from sports (I'm a huge Patriots, Celtics, Redsox and Bruins fan), to music, hell maybe even a little politics (no guarantees there). Basically whatever I feel is blogable is fair game.

So, a little bit about me... My name is Roger Bourland IV (the forth after my uncle, grandfather and great grandfather). I am a senior at North Andover High School, I like long walks on the beach and... Nahhhh I'm not going down that road now. As of now, I'm planning on attending the University of Alabama for college. (Roll Tide!) I am either majoring in English or Journalism, can't really decide which yet. One thing I do know is that I want to be involved with sports in some way as a career. Sports, in particular football and baseball, have always been my passion. Other than that, I like to listen to music, chill, play xbox, hangout with friends, meet new people, all that good stuff.

The BEST sports city!
Beast mode, that's me playin some outside backer at my old school

I will be posting again probably later tonight, but for now my brains tired and I need to eat.

Till then,
